Robinhood is seeking a Software Engineer, Web3 Backend to design and scale backend services, data systems, and infrastructure for its cryptocurrency, wallet, and web3 product offerings. Operating out of the Toronto office on a hybrid schedule, this position involves bridging traditional financial market infrastructure with decentralized systems, smart contracts, and tokenized assets to support around-the-clock trading.
This role suits engineers who want to work on correctness-critical systems where financial assets move continuously. The engineer will collaborate across product, compliance, and platform teams to build consumer-facing features, develop decentralized trading experiences, and handle complex scalability challenges.

Responsibilities
- Design, test, build, and deploy scalable backend infrastructure and services for Robinhood Wallet, Web3 platform systems, and Tokenization
- Develop connections between traditional brokerage and ledger ledgers and on-chain systems such as DEX trade flows, smart contract integrations, and chain indexers
- Create product features and platform upgrades that satisfy rigorous correctness and scalability standards
- Optimize system performance, enhance engineering productivity, and lower operational risk
- Partner with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver technical solutions
Requirements
- Minimum of two years of experience in software development
- Proficiency in backend development using programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java
- Understanding of cloud-native architectures, system design, data modeling, and software engineering principles
- Commitment to handling correctness-critical systems involving idempotency, reconciliation, and failure modes
- Experience delivering end-to-end projects within cross-functional environments
Qualifications
- Demonstrated interest or willingness to learn rapidly about blockchain fundamentals including EVM, smart contracts, wallets, and on-chain settlement
