Databricks is hiring a Solutions Architect with a focus on Consumer Packaged Goods. Databricks operates as a data and intelligence company, serving over 20,000 global organizations with its unified data and AI platform. In this remote, full-time position, the professional will spearhead technical strategy for accounts, direct architecture discussions, and act as a trusted advisor to technical leadership.
The person in this role will guide accounts from discovery through production deployment, handle complex design challenges involving machine learning and real-time analytics, and build custom solutions to win competitive scenarios. Candidates will also coordinate cross-functional teams and channel structured client feedback back into product development.
This position requires deep technical knowledge in distributed data systems alongside strategic consulting capabilities. Compensation ranges from USD 180,000 to 247,500 per year, with total compensation potentially including equity, performance bonuses, and other region-specific benefits.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end technical strategy for assigned accounts from initial discovery to production deployment and consumption growth
- Direct complex architecture discussions covering real-time analytics, machine learning, and data engineering
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to engineering leads, directors, and customer architects
- Demonstrate platform differentiation through custom-built solutions to secure technical wins against competitors
- Coordinate cross-functional resources including partners, specialist solutions architects, and data science specialists
- Provide structured feedback regarding customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction
Requirements
- At least 6 years of experience in technical pre-sales, data engineering, solutions architecture, or a senior hands-on technical position
- Strong coding abilities in SQL and Python, including the capacity to handle live debugging, coding, and solution-building
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems architecture such as lakehouse patterns, streaming architectures, and scalable data pipelines
- Demonstrated ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders involving whiteboarding and trade-off analysis
- Background with public cloud production deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, addressing security, governance, and infrastructure
- History of driving platform adoption and consumption growth within client accounts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
- Databricks platform proficiency or rapid learning capability
- Emerging technical specialization in areas such as machine learning, real-time streaming, data governance, or migrations
- Databricks certifications as a Data Engineer, ML professional, or Platform specialist
- Background using competitive platforms like Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS native services
- Prior experience working at a cloud provider or data and AI company
- Industry domain expertise in sectors such as Retail, Financial Services, Healthcare, or Media
