Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a long-term artificial intelligence and machine learning architectural strategy aligned with business objectives
- Manage the strategic roadmap for platform tooling and operations to unify model lifecycles across capabilities
- Assess and deploy modern language model architectures, retrieval-augmented generation systems, and inference optimization techniques
- Lead system architectures for agentic artificial intelligence encompassing orchestration, reasoning, and contextual grounding
- Engage in both high-level strategic planning with executives and hands-on code reviews or pair programming with engineers
- Collaborate with product management to translate business roadmaps into structured technical milestones
Requirements
- Fifteen or more years of experience in software engineering
- Six or more years focused specifically on building and scaling production-grade machine learning systems at a platform level
- Extensive background in machine learning and language model operations patterns including evaluation metrics and automated retraining loops
- Deep expertise in designing, architecting, and deploying transformer models, orchestration, embedding models, and vector stores
- Strong proficiency in cloud-based services utilizing AWS, GCP, or Azure to manage high-volume data
- Exceptional communication skills with a history of mentoring engineers and steering technical strategy
Qualifications
- Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
- History of relevant publications at top machine learning conferences or significant open-source contributions
- Demonstrated experience designing evaluation frameworks to measure context quality
- Background in designing and implementing enterprise-scale operational platforms for artificial intelligence and machine learning
