Dialpad is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer (Integrations) to lead the design, creation, and reliability of native integrations on a hybrid schedule out of the Bangalore office. Dialpad operates an AI platform for customer experience, uniting AI and human agents on a single system to resolve customer inquiries, handle digital and voice interactions, and automate workflows in real time. In this engineering role, you will take ownership of a functional area within the Integrations platform, driving the technical direction for native connections with customer-critical SaaS platforms like Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk, and Google Workspace. You will build Agentic AI-compatible integrations, write clear architectural design documents, design scalable backend services and APIs, and mentor junior engineering staff. The ideal candidate operates autonomously with minimal guidance, balances pragmatic business and technical tradeoffs, and collaborates closely with product leaders, business stakeholders, and customers.
The position suits an experienced developer who thrives in an environment focused on AI transformation and wants to build products that redefine corporate communications. You will utilize a modern tech stack featuring Python, Vue.js, Redis, Google Cloud, and AI technologies.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical design, creation, maintenance, and reliability of key native integrations across the platform
- Build and improve integrations with software platforms including Zendesk, HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and AthenaHealth
- Lead the delivery of Agentic AI-compatible integrations to help customers automate workflows and link external systems with Dialpad actions
- Produce architectural design and specification documents outlining implementation options, dependencies, risks, tradeoffs, rollout plans, and success metrics
- Develop backend services, APIs, workers, webhooks, data transfer flows, UI components, and automation workflows
- Debug complex production problems across internal services and third-party platforms to establish durable fixes and improved team processes
- Write modular, clean code with unit tests, test hooks, monitoring, and alerting
- Participate in design and code reviews while mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance
Requirements
- Have at least 7 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent practical background
- Possess experience owning significant production backend, full-stack, platform, or integration systems from design through maintenance
- Demonstrate experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, particularly Python or JavaScript
- Show background in building integrations, APIs, webhooks, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, or customer-facing platform features
- Bring experience handling OAuth, permission structures, API rate limits, webhooks, event delivery, retries, idempotency, and third-party constraints
- Apply strong testing, debugging, and troubleshooting capabilities across distributed systems and external platform boundaries
- Maintain effective communication skills for writing design documents, identifying risks early, and aligning stakeholders
- Use AI coding assistants like Claude, Gemini, or similar tools for the majority of coding tasks
Qualifications
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Previous experience mentoring engineers and raising quality standards for a team
