This on-site Sr Software Engineer role in Hyderabad covers full-stack work at ServiceNow, from Java and Python backend services and REST APIs to ReactJS or Angular front ends. The engineer also operates high-throughput streaming and storage systems built on Kafka and ClickHouse.
Deploying and troubleshooting services on Kubernetes is a core part of the work. The role includes adding AI-powered features and agent workflows to products, plus observability, testing and design reviews.
Responsibilities
- Build and scale backend services and REST APIs in Java and Python
- Deploy, scale and troubleshoot services on Kubernetes
- Develop streaming and storage pipelines using Kafka and ClickHouse-backed data stores
- Build reusable frontend components and integrate AI features and agent workflows
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience running production systems
- Backend proficiency in Java and Python with REST API experience
- Hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience in production
- Understanding of distributed systems, including messaging or streaming such as Kafka
Qualifications
- ReactJS or Angular with JavaScript or TypeScript, plus solid HTML and CSS
- Working knowledge of LLMs, AI agents, MCP or agent frameworks
- Experience with ClickHouse or other analytical databases (plus)
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
