Job Description

As a Staff Android Engineer focusing on the Android Platform, you will guide multi-team initiatives across a large codebase. This position centers on three main areas: maintaining application health and performance, driving developer efficiency, and establishing modern app architecture. You will translate complex platform challenges into multi-quarter roadmaps while staying actively involved in technical design, execution, rollout, and adoption.

This role is ideal for an experienced technical leader who enjoys guiding large-scale codebases, mentoring senior colleagues, and balancing long-term infrastructure stability with product delivery. You will work remotely and collaborate closely with product, design, data, and engineering partners to scale the application for the next phase of growth.

Responsibilities

Lead architectural decisions and scale the mobile platform to accommodate future user growth
Define strategy for developer experience to speed up build and test cycles while enhancing release safety
Build client health and observability foundations including telemetry, logs, and dashboards
Promote AI-enhanced developer workflows and automated engineering tasks
Mentor senior engineers and elevate technical standards through code reviews and documentation
Collaborate across product, design, and data teams to build consensus and guide technical direction

Requirements

At least 5 years of software development experience
Minimum 3 years building Android applications with a history of leading complex initiatives from definition to adoption
Experience setting technical strategy and delivering shared platform tools across large multi-team codebases
Expertise in Kotlin, Android concurrency, lifecycle management, Jetpack Compose, and Kotlin coroutines
Background in Android platform infrastructure such as networking, caching, session orchestration, or shared libraries
Practical application of artificial intelligence to engineering tasks like refactoring or code generation
