Operating at the intersection of machine learning, design, and robotics, the organization seeks a Staff Data Scientist - Behavior Evaluation to join its collaborative and fast-moving team.
In this hybrid role, the professional will shape self-driving systems by solving difficult data problems and advancing statistical modeling and machine learning. The position involves interpreting massive datasets derived from simulation and fleet sources, designing new algorithmic approaches, and validating system performance and safety through thorough testing.

Responsibilities
- Examine large datasets sourced from simulation and fleet operations to uncover actionable insights
- Create and assess innovative algorithms for feature engineering, model training, data processing, and performance optimization
- Validate and test model performance rigorously to guarantee system safety and reliability
- Share technical results and recommendations clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and data scientists
Requirements
- Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or an allied quantitative discipline
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
- Proficiency in programming with Python, including Pandas, scikit-learn, and SQL
- Deep knowledge of statistical modeling, deep learning, and reinforcement learning techniques
- Background handling large datasets and distributed computing systems such as Spark and Hadoop
- Competence in data processing, visualization, and feature engineering
Qualifications
