The company is seeking a Staff Data Scientist (People Analytics & Insights) to join the Talent Management & Analytics team in Chicago, IL. This on-site role requires attendance in the office at least three days per week.

As the technical and strategic anchor for the team, the successful candidate will own the vision, design, and delivery of high-impact data products used by executives, people partners, and line managers. The position focuses on applying predictive analytics, AI-native workflows, and advanced data modeling to workforce systems, covering areas such as talent retention, team performance, sentiment architecture, and metrics governance.

This opportunity is well-suited for a quantitative professional with extensive technical background in data science, advanced Python and SQL skills, and a strong product focus. The role involves collaborating directly with Enterprise Engineering and operating within the company's structured compensation zones, offering a blend of technical problem-solving and organizational impact.

Responsibilities

  • Build predictive frameworks to forecast workforce trends and behaviors
  • Architect a unified workforce data model by combining recruiting systems, performance cycles, surveys, and internal tools
  • Leverage AI-native workflows to parse unstructured text like exit notes and survey feedback at scale
  • Establish standard metrics, definitions, and semantic layers for headcount, attrition, and workforce analytics
  • Implement role-based access controls and data masking to safeguard sensitive personnel information
  • Design a continuous, real-time employee sentiment listening framework to replace traditional annual surveys
  • Act as the technical product owner for internal data interfaces in partnership with Enterprise Engineering
  • Apply experimental design, A/B testing, and psychometric methodologies to validate predictive models

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional data science experience
  • Advanced technical skills using Python and SQL
  • Direct experience working with modern data infrastructure including Snowflake, BigQuery, or dbt
  • Demonstrated product focus with a track record of defining user requirements and launching internal data tools
  • Deep understanding of statistics, experimental design, and psychometrics or survey methodology
  • Hands-on experience integrating language models into data pipelines for automated text processing and summarization
  • Ability to work on-site in the Chicago, IL office at least 3 days per week
