Mable is currently hiring a Staff Engineer on a hybrid employment basis.
This position focuses on elevating technical quality and safety across Mable, enhancing development tools, and fostering the professional growth of software engineers. The role involves guiding teams through technical expertise, leveraging artificial intelligence in coding workflows, and shaping system architecture.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in software development practices, quality tooling, and continuous integration methodologies. The position requires guiding other engineers, analyzing system performance, and managing technical incidents. Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions intended for use across multiple teams
- Acquire or construct tools utilized by the entire engineering organization
- Produce technical documentation, diagrams, and sample code
- Participate in system incident management and resolution
- Analyze current systems and recommend improvements to procedures and tooling
- Collect, analyze, and summarize development and service issues
- Coach, mentor, and pair with engineers while running training sessions
- Perform system architecture analysis and design
- Identify system-level deficiencies and improvements
- Utilize and coach others on artificial intelligence tools for coding, debugging, and reviews
- Integrate artificial intelligence into development and continuous integration tooling
Requirements
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Possess experience mentoring and growing other engineers
- Display a strong grasp of clean code principles and testing practices
- Bring experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools such as git and GitHub Actions
- Demonstrate hands-on experience utilizing artificial intelligence tools in daily work
- Apply DevOps and continuous integration approaches to drive software quality
- Show hands-on experience with quality tooling like static analysis, automated testing, security scanning, and accessibility checks
- Exhibit experience introducing quality improvements within development teams
