Pinterest operates an online platform where users discover inspiration and creative concepts. The company is currently hiring a Staff Product Manager, Content-to-Discovery Infrastructure for its San Francisco office on a full-time basis.

This individual contributor role suits an experienced product leader who wants to direct the end-to-end content-to-discovery flywheel. The position focuses on four main pillars: content and catalog acquisition; processing, enrichment, and freshness; indexing for shopping and search; and retrieval and serving. The selected candidate will define a multi-year strategy, manage infrastructure roadmaps for scraping and catalog onboarding, oversee metadata enrichment, and establish metrics for freshness and reliability.

The role involves extensive cross-functional collaboration with engineering, data science, and product teams spanning content, shopping, search, and infrastructure. Responsibilities also include acting as the platform spokesperson and mentoring other product managers without direct people-management duties. The position is open to US-based applicants only and is not eligible for relocation assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute a multi-year strategy for the content-to-discovery flywheel encompassing acquisition, processing, indexing, and retrieval or serving.
  • Manage the infrastructure roadmap for content, scraping, and catalog onboarding to secure appropriate supply by category and domain.
  • Supervise the extraction, processing, metadata enrichment, and freshness lifecycle to maintain current and trustworthy catalog data.
  • Direct indexing operations across Shopping and Search.
  • Manage retrieval and serving while monitoring latency, performance signals, and inventory.
  • Define measurement standards for freshness and reliability to prioritize investments and evaluate impact.
  • Collaborate across content, shopping, search, and infrastructure teams while acting as the platform spokesperson and mentoring peer product managers.

Requirements

  • Have ten or more years of experience in product management or technical leadership.
  • Demonstrate a track record of building and launching content, catalog, or commerce-supply platforms and infrastructure at scale.
  • Possess direct experience owning content or catalog acquisition and onboarding, data enrichment and freshness pipelines, search or shopping indexing, or low-latency retrieval and serving systems.
  • Show a history of improving data quality, freshness, or relevance metrics across a large, multi-stage pipeline.
  • Exhibit technical judgment capable of handling architectural tradeoffs across ingestion, indexing, and serving.
  • Demonstrate success leading large, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple teams and systems.
  • Apply an analytical and strategic mindset to make high-accountability decisions and define impact metrics.
  • Demonstrate exceptional communication and influence skills spanning individual engineers to senior executives.
  • Be based in the US.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or possess equivalent practical experience.
  • Hold an advanced degree.
