Deliveroo, which now operates alongside DoorDash and Wolt as part of one global company, is looking for a Staff Product Manager to join its team in London. In this on-site role, you will take ownership of major components of a shared Generative AI platform that powers experiences for millions of consumers, couriers, and merchants across three different brands. Your primary internal customers will be machine learning researchers and engineers developing AI agents and products.
This position requires you to formulate the strategy and roadmap for core platform areas, including model access and routing, agent infrastructure, evaluation, and observability. You will evaluate both frontier and open-weight models to decide whether to build, buy, or partner, while establishing necessary guardrails around latency, quality, and cost for production-ready agents. Working alongside product and engineering leadership in both Europe and the United States, your decisions will influence AI development across all operating markets and require regular collaboration that includes afternoon and evening calls across US time zones.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background with experience managing developer products, ML or data infrastructure, or technical platforms. You should bring hands-on experience working with LLM-based products or inference platforms in production. The organization values individuals who can recognize recurring engineering challenges and consolidate them into shared foundational tools. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage deeply with technical teams and clearly communicate trade-offs to senior leadership while driving ambiguous areas forward across multiple time zones and countries.
Responsibilities
- Determine the strategy and roadmap for core GenAI platform components such as agent infrastructure, model access, routing, observability, and evaluation
- Unify platform capabilities across Deliveroo, Wolt, and DoorDash to ensure solutions scale globally
- Manage the model portfolio by deciding when to build, buy, or partner regarding frontier and open-weight models
- Enable production-ready agents by providing secure access to company tools, systems, and knowledge alongside latency, cost, and quality controls
- Establish evaluation frameworks that allow internal teams to verify quality prior to launch and continuously monitor it afterward
- Engage closely with internal teams deploying AI experiences to track adoption rates and drive roadmap decisions based on production usage
- Present platform strategies to senior technical leadership and influence broader organizational planning
Requirements
- Significant product management experience, typically 8 years or an equivalent duration, managing a technical platform, developer product, or data and ML infrastructure
- Practical, hands-on involvement with production-grade LLM platforms or products, such as inference, evaluation, assistants, or agents
- Ability to collaborate closely with machine learning researchers and software engineers while explaining complex trade-offs to senior executives
- Track record of independently guiding ambiguous, large-scale functional areas and aligning stakeholders across multiple countries and time zones
- Willingness to participate in regular scheduling overlap with US time zones, including late-afternoon and evening meetings
