The company is currently hiring a Staff Product Manager to lead moderation initiatives from the ground up at its San Francisco office. In this on-site position, the successful candidate will work at the intersection of consumer experiences, community governance, and advanced artificial intelligence systems.
This role focuses on transforming traditional manual moderation into intelligent, proactive enforcement tools that reduce the workload of community moderators and support global scaling. The person filling this position will partner closely with engineering, data science, design, safety, and executive leadership teams to build critical features and define overarching product strategies.
Ideal candidates possess strong product intuition, deep technical knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence systems, and a history of steering ambiguous zero-to-one consumer products through launch. Applicants should be comfortable weighing delicate ecosystem trade-offs involving user trust, safety, community standards, and product performance.
Responsibilities
- Pinpoint high-impact opportunities to improve moderator workflows and community enforcement, establishing clear product strategies and roadmaps
- Drive the creation of zero-to-one moderation capabilities powered by large language models to assist scaling communities globally
- Analyze community dynamics, moderator practices, and user behaviors to translate findings into high-quality product developments
- Establish success metrics and evaluation frameworks connecting user value, safety strategy, and community health
- Evaluate artificial intelligence and machine learning quality parameters such as latency, precision, recall, error costs, coverage, and feedback loops
- Balance complex ecosystem factors involving safety, moderator trust, user trust, and product quality
- Collaborate with engineering, machine learning, design, safety, consumer, and executive teams to execute high-priority company initiatives
- Present strategic plans, decisions, trade-offs, and learnings to executive stakeholders
Requirements
- Staff-level product management experience overseeing major consumer surfaces or systems with verifiable user impact
- Exceptional product sense encompassing user intuition, problem framing, prioritization, product taste, and user experience judgment
- Proven background in guiding ambiguous zero-to-one or significant product-evolution initiatives from initial strategy to launch
- Demonstrated experience developing products powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning, with working knowledge of model evaluation and associated trade-offs
- Strong analytical capabilities for defining metrics, analyzing evidence, and shifting direction as required
- Advanced cross-functional leadership skills working alongside engineering, machine learning, design, and safety teams in complex technical environments
Qualifications
- Experience working with community, social, creator, user-generated content, trust, safety, or moderation products
- Familiarity with machine learning-intensive consumer interfaces or policy-sensitive artificial intelligence experiences
- Background in replacing mature systems with alternative product paradigms inside complex matrix organizations
