Coinbase is seeking a Strategic Finance Manager to support its Platform organization. The company operates on a remote-first model, though employees gather quarterly for in-person working sessions known as surges. In this position, the professional functions as a primary financial advisor to Platform leadership, including the Chief Technology Officer.
The person in this role helps turn the company mission into a sustainable financial model by managing the financial roadmap. Duties involve handling the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts, and comprehensive business reviews. The role suits a finance professional experienced in managing large operational expenditure budgets and collaborating with executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end financial deliverables such as forecasting, reporting, and analysis to ensure accurate annual budgets and monthly planning cycles.
- Execute month-end close for assigned areas by performing variance analysis and collaborating with Accounting to preserve data integrity.
- Examine financial and operational data to discover trends, anomalies, and insights, explaining the reasoning behind the metrics.
- Partner with Platform leadership during business reviews to present findings and translate complicated data into actionable recommendations.
- Develop and sustain financial models that assess risks, opportunities, and investment trade-offs.
Requirements
- Possess at least six years of professional background in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, or an equivalent fast-paced finance setting.
- Demonstrate a history of overseeing large-scale operating expense budgets encompassing headcount, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and contractors across multiple cost centers.
- Show the capability to influence senior stakeholders regarding resource allocation and investment choices through clear financial analysis.
- Bring advanced financial modeling expertise, SQL proficiency, and practical familiarity with planning software or data visualization platforms.
- Apply generative artificial intelligence tools and copilots in daily workflows while maintaining human-in-the-loop practices.
