Job Description

Toptal operates a worldwide network of business, design and technology talent that helps companies scale teams on demand. The company says it is the biggest fully remote workforce in the world and reports annual revenue above $200 million. This remote, full-time role is the highest product position at the company. The SVP reports to the Chief Executive Officer, sits on the executive team, and works with the heads of engineering, design, finance, marketing, emerging ventures, professional services and customer groups.

The remit covers the vision and delivery of products and platforms: the core platform, talent and client experiences, internal systems, go-to-market products and the data and AI infrastructure beneath them. AI sits at the heart of the job. The SVP owns the AI product agenda, defines how AI quality is judged through evaluations and review loops, and chooses which problems merit models or autonomous agents. The posting seeks a leader who writes specifications, works with raw data and prototypes ideas before budgets are committed.

The SVP also runs the portfolio and operating model, decides how product teams are sized and what each role demands, and sets the bar for hiring. Headcount planning is included, and the posting presents hiring as an urgent, high-value priority.

Applicants need at least fifteen years of software product management, including eight years or more leading product organizations and managers of product leaders. A bachelor's degree, ideally technical, is required, and a master's degree is strongly preferred. Experience running AI-enabled products and a practical understanding of modern AI methods are also expected. Applications and correspondence must be in English.

Responsibilities

  • Own the long-term vision and multi-year plan for the whole portfolio, deciding what gets built, retired or funded
  • Define the AI product strategy, covering where agents and models fit and how AI features are priced
  • Make AI quality measurable with evaluations, acceptance thresholds and review processes
  • Work with Engineering on the shared platform as the most demanding product customer
  • Build the product operating model, prioritization framework and success metrics
  • Plan team structure, headcount and hiring commitments for product

Requirements

  • Fifteen or more years of software product management
  • Eight or more years leading product organizations, including managing product leaders
  • Demonstrated control over resourcing and workforce planning, with hiring results that can be counted
  • Experience running an entire product portfolio where business outcomes count as much as delivery
  • Record of turning executive-level strategy into a roadmap that spans several teams
  • Track record of leading AI-enabled products that moved measurable business numbers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, with a technical field preferred
  • Master's degree, strongly favored
  • Practical familiarity with agent design, retrieval, context work, fine-tuning and evaluation
  • Growth marketing know-how covering acquisition, activation, conversion and retention
  • Marketplace or two-sided platform experience is a notable advantage
  • Software engineering background is a notable advantage
  • Comfort with SQL or spreadsheets and with user research
