Zoox is actively building an autonomous mobility solution from the ground up, driving the future of transportation. To support this mission, the organization is seeking a Team Lead, Vehicle Operations (2nd Shift) to guide a group of field experts operating specialized tools and vehicle features.
In this hands-on position, the selected individual will work directly alongside team members on the ground, establishing a strong standard for safety and discipline during testing activities. Responsibilities include managing administrative duties, maintaining alignment with company objectives, and collaborating with cross-functional divisions such as vehicle engineering, program management, strategy, and go-to-market teams. The shift for this position is Thursday through Monday from 3:45 pm to 12:15 am.
This role is ideal for a metric-driven professional with a background in supervising teams within product-based environments, capable of addressing technical challenges and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Support vehicle operators daily while fostering a safety-centric and inclusive environment
- Handle administrative tasks such as timesheets, expense reports, schedule validation, and performance feedback for direct reports and contingent workers
- Collaborate with other team leads and managers to keep personnel aligned with company objectives
- Master proprietary operational software and mentor staff to meet performance standards
- Answer inquiries and provide guidance to contingent workers and management assigned to the team
- Perform recurring safety-focused testing to maintain familiarity with operational workflows
- Partner with product and program management to drive local and organizational process enhancements
Requirements
- Have at least 7 years of professional experience in a cross-functional and product-based environment
- Bring a minimum of 3 years of supervisory background
- Demonstrate experience working collaboratively and fostering teamwork
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and a proactive attitude
- Possess strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Maintain an excellent driving history
- Commit to working on-site for all scheduled shifts on the 2nd shift schedule
Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor's degree
- Possess people management experience including performance reviews
- Bring 3 or more years of experience in the autonomous vehicle industry
- Have 4 or more years of operations background
- Demonstrate experience collaborating on go-to-market initiatives with cross-functional teams
