Job Description

GitLab is looking for a remote Tech Operations Specialist to keep the AI software tools used across its field organisation running well each day. The role sits within the Enablement and AI function, part of the CRO organisation. The post reports upward to the Vice President who leads Enablement and AI. It suits a detail-minded, execution-focused person who likes organising a rapidly changing set of tools and wants to build a base in technology operations.

The job covers four main areas. The specialist keeps a current register of AI software in use throughout the field, spots duplication and helps reduce the number of overlapping products. They build and maintain a catalogue of use cases the field has either adopted or asked for, working with the AI Transformation Owner and the CRO. They monitor utilisation, produce straightforward adoption reports, and alert stakeholders to tools that are underused or underperforming. They also write internal rollout notices, run short enablement initiatives, and manage the intake of access requests so provisioning is prompt and matches licences and approval rules.

The specialist also helps maintain the quality of data that feeds into or comes out of AI tools, working with other teams to keep shared drives and datasets accurate and tidy.

The ideal candidate has early to mid-career experience in enablement, sales or business operations, IT operations, or another role with heavy coordination. They are comfortable running repeatable processes, curious about how AI tools are set up and accessed, and able to work asynchronously in a company where everyone is remote. Basic spreadsheet and dashboard skills are expected. Staff are also expected to build AI into their everyday workflow.

  • Manage intake and processing of AI tool access requests against licensing and approval rules
  • Help keep AI-related data and shared datasets accurate and well organised
  • Promote AI adoption and good practice across the field

Requirements

  • Early to mid-level background in enablement, sales or business operations, plus IT operations or a similar coordinating role
  • Organised and detail-focused, able to track many tools, requests and datasets at once
  • Interest in AI tools and willingness to learn how they are configured and accessed
  • Comfortable following and refining structured processes
  • Comfortable working alongside enablement, IT and field stakeholders
  • Basic comfort with spreadsheets, dashboards and simple data tools
