Job Description
This technical product marketing role owns how Freshworks explains AI inside Freshservice, its IT service management product. The manager writes for technical buyers about how the agents operate, what information they rely on, how output quality is judged and why key architecture choices were made. The purpose is to keep public messaging in line with what the software actually does.
Most of the output is long-form writing: explanatory pieces on architecture, detailed articles, white papers, narratives about models and evaluation, and guides for integrating with platform teams. The role also gives solution engineers, architects and customer success staff the material they need for technical assessments, pilot projects and security or architecture reviews. The manager joins technical discussions such as customer evaluations, expert advisory panels, analyst meetings and interviews, and speaks at online seminars and industry events or publishes signed articles. Before writing about a feature, the manager is expected to use the product directly, run the workflows and form a personal view.
The ideal candidate has at least five years in customer-facing technical work, such as product or solutions roles within B2B software. Working knowledge of modern AI systems is essential, including agent frameworks, tool invocation, data retrieval, evaluation methods and how cost, speed and accuracy trade off. The job is hybrid and based at the downtown Boston office, with in-person days Tuesday through Thursday. The base range is $150,000 to $180,000, with eligibility for a target bonus.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical story for AI across Freshservice: agent behavior, grounding in context, quality measurement and the reasons behind design decisions.
- Produce explainers, deep technical articles, white papers, model and evaluation write-ups, and integration guides.
- Build material that field engineers and architects use to pass technical reviews and proofs of concept.
- Assist with technical customer contacts, advisory sessions and analyst talks when depth matters.
- Partner with product and engineering to convert technical choices into customer value and feed buyer feedback back to the roadmap.
- Present at webinars and conferences and publish bylined technical pieces.
- Keep watch on models, agent frameworks, new protocols and competitor moves.
Requirements
- At least five years in customer-facing technical roles in B2B software, such as product, technical marketing or solutions work.
- Fluency with agent frameworks, tool invocation and the Model Context Protocol, retrieval and grounding, evaluation and fine-tuning.
- Comfort using product environments and demos hands-on, running workflows and testing their edges.
- Precise, clear technical writing for practitioner readers.
- Credibility with engineers, able to follow an architecture discussion and raise the pivotal question.
Qualifications
- Background promoting service-management software, IT operations tools, DevOps, observability, cloud, security or infrastructure products.
- Understanding of enterprise AI adoption and of concerns such as governance, security and data location.
- Experience reaching IT administrators, platform engineers and enterprise technical reviewers.
- Practical work with agent building, evaluation tooling or automation platforms.
- A visible public record such as articles, speaking, demos or open-source code.
