Job Description
Canonical is hiring a full-time Technical and Reporting Accountant who brings IFRS expertise. The post can sit in a London office or be remote across EMEA time zones. It is part of a finance team that is expanding ahead of a planned stock market listing, and the company wants help getting the business ready for public scrutiny.
The accountant reads and explains accounting standards, provides technical advice on complicated deals, and writes accounting papers and policy documents. Other work covers tracking regulatory changes, assisting the year-end external audit and the internal audit team, and supporting monthly reporting. The job also includes preparing statutory accounts and annual reports for several subsidiaries and jurisdictions, improving financial procedures and checking compliance.
The best fit is a qualified accountant with familiarity in IFRS and national GAAP, a record of preparing financial reports and statutory accounts, and real enthusiasm for the subject. The work calls for precision, dependability, approachability and flexibility. The team values people who share knowledge so colleagues can cover for one another, and who build good working relationships beyond finance.
