Xendit seeks a UX Researcher to join its financial technology platform team. Xendit provides businesses ranging from startups to large enterprises with a unified infrastructure for payment acceptance, payouts, treasury, and financial services across Southeast Asia and other markets. This role exists to guide trade-offs between experience and compliance, and between merchants and developers, by grounding product decisions in evidence rather than opinions.
The successful candidate will manage generative and evaluative research spanning both the merchant lifecycle and the developer experience. Responsibilities include setting the research roadmap for the domain's three clusters, utilizing mixed methods such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, and behavioral data analysis in collaboration with Data teams, and translating research findings into actionable insights for product managers and designers. Furthermore, the position involves establishing a lightweight insight repository and a practical model for democratizing research while maintaining high standards on critical questions.
This position suits a professional who values direct, candid critique and relies on influence rather than authority to drive product choices. The role reports to the Product Design and UX Director for Customer Lifecycle and requires balancing analytical rigor with timeline pragmatism.
Responsibilities
- Manage the research roadmap across three domain clusters based on key decision-making needs
- Conduct mixed methods research including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and behavioral or funnel analysis alongside Data partners
- Translate research insights into actionable choices for product managers and designers
- Establish and maintain a lightweight insight repository
- Develop a practical model to democratize research while safeguarding methodological rigor for high-stakes topics
- Set the research cadence and determine when deep rigor or faster lightweight methods are appropriate
Requirements
- Demonstrated mixed-methods UX research background with fluency in both qualitative and quantitative approaches
- Capability to convert findings into tangible product choices
- Skill in influencing stakeholders without holding formal authority
- Ability to balance methodological rigor with timeline pragmatism
Qualifications
- Experience conducting research in fintech or regulated environments
- Experience researching developer audiences
- Quantitative fluency
- Experience with ResearchOps or repository-building
