Kraken is seeking a TechOps Lead to oversee its technology operations team in London. This full-time, on-site role focuses on scaling the company safely and securely while prioritizing people. This position suits an experienced professional who thrives in ambiguous environments and can balance hands-on technical support with strategic leadership. The TechOps Lead will manage day-to-day service delivery, mentor staff members, and handle regional processes while keeping aligned with global standards. Responsibilities span identity management, devices, software-as-a-service applications, networking, and office infrastructure.

Candidates should expect to spend a significant portion of their time providing direct frontline support alongside team management. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with regional leaders in the UK and APAC, partner with security teams, and coordinate complex technical projects across time zones. Travel to global sites may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of TechOps services and balance team workloads
  • Provide hands-on first, second, and third-line technical support across the business
  • Mentor and line manage team members to support their professional development
  • Collaborate with security teams to balance security, user experience, and productivity
  • Coordinate and deliver complex technical projects involving multiple stakeholders across time zones
  • Handle incident management, communications, and follow-ups
  • Support global operations with opportunities to travel to international sites

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of people management experience with a track record of leading IT or TechOps teams
  • Strong service management and operational background
  • Experience operating in highly ambiguous environments while managing competing priorities
  • Technical background including hands-on first, second, and third-line support experience
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience supporting macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android environments
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management platforms such as Okta or Microsoft Entra
  • Must have the legal right to work in the country of application without visa sponsorship

Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of programming or software engineering
  • Familiarity with security tooling like CrowdStrike, Kolide, osquery, and Zscaler
  • Experience with email gateway administration and routing
