In this role, the selected candidate will partner with visual designers, user experience designers, and server-side engineers to deliver sophisticated web applications and digital projects. The position involves building responsive user interfaces, maintaining current web properties, managing update requests, and contributing to the Vanilla Framework living style guide. The ideal professional is deeply passionate about web standards, values product design equally alongside code, and possesses strong attention to detail.
This position requires candidates to be based within the EMEA time zones covering Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. While day-to-day operations occur in a distributed work environment, teams gather in person two to four times a year in international locations for strategic alignment and planning.
Responsibilities
- Develop high-fidelity websites and web applications utilizing HTML, SCSS, JavaScript, React, and TypeScript
- Maintain existing web projects by updating content and introducing new pages
- Handle incoming update requests and coordinate with or delegate tasks to other team members
- Maintain high and consistent quality standards across the entire product portfolio
- Publish new pages according to established specifications and web style guidelines
- Contribute to and participate in the Vanilla Framework living style guide
- Collaborate closely with visual and UX designers to build exemplary user experiences
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building modern web applications
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS with SCSS, and JavaScript
- Working knowledge of JavaScript component libraries
- Experience with TypeScript
- Ability to build responsive user interfaces for diverse devices and browsers
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Awareness of search engine optimization best practices
- Consideration of accessibility across all work
- Solid understanding of web performance in complex user interfaces
- Capacity to interact effectively with UX designers, visual designers, and server-side developers
