This position involves designing, building, and maintaining advanced Visual Studio Code extensions, plugins, and developer productivity tools. Responsibilities
- Design, create, and maintain advanced Visual Studio Code plugins and extensions
- Build customized developer workflows and productivity tools inside VS Code
- Develop extension features utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
- Connect VS Code extensions with AI services, REST APIs, backend services, and developer utilities
- Enhance extension scalability, user experience, and performance
- Construct automated CI/CD pipelines dedicated to extension release and development
- Containerize software via Docker and oversee deployments through Kubernetes
- Partner with DevOps personnel to automate release, build, and deployment workflows
- Resolve complex issues concerning debugging, developer environments, and extensions
- Establish unit testing, code quality standards, and integration testing
- Coordinate with architects, product managers, and engineering squads to supply enterprise developer tools
- Produce documentation for architecture, APIs, and development standards
Requirements
- 6 to 8 years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Significant practical experience with Node.js
- Hands-on background in creating Visual Studio Code extensions
- Understanding of the VS Code Extension API
- Familiarity with Language Server Protocol and Debug Adapter Protocol
- Knowledge of Git version control workflows
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
- Practical skill in Docker containerization and Kubernetes deployment management
- Background in Linux environments, shell scripting, and infrastructure automation
- Experience with REST API integrations and authentication protocols such as OAuth and JWT
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and unit testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
Qualifications
- B.E. or M.Tech degree
