Swiggy is hiring a Software Development Engineer III for an on-site position based in Bengaluru. This role focuses on owning end-to-end frontend architecture decisions, developing consumer-facing applications, and leading the team's adoption of artificial intelligence tools.
The engineer will be responsible for building reusable code and design systems, optimizing applications for speed and scale, and ensuring pixel-perfect user interfaces across multiple devices and viewports. The position involves guiding team technical tasks, verifying AI-generated code, and evaluating new technology solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage complete frontend architecture choices including rendering strategy and module boundaries for large-scale consumer goods
- Drive team adoption of artificial intelligence tools by establishing guidelines and reviewing AI-produced code
- Create customer-facing features and applications while maintaining high quality standards
- Construct reusable code blocks, libraries, and design systems for upcoming projects
- Verify the technical feasibility of user interface and user experience designs using prototyping instruments
- Achieve pixel-perfect execution across various devices and screen sizes
- Enhance application speed and scalability while adhering to strict performance budgets
- Evaluate third-party library internals to decide between building custom solutions or adopting existing ones
Requirements
- Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and CSS pre-processors like LESS and SASS or CSS in JS
- Familiarity with modern UI frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular, alongside TypeScript
- Experience handling state and data-fetching patterns like TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, or Zustand, plus monorepo tools
- Background with Webpack, Vite, npm or pnpm, and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of design principles for writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, micro-frontends, server-side rendering, and static site generation
- Capability to manage cross-browser compatibility challenges
- Understanding of performance metrics, Core Web Vitals, and WCAG accessibility standards
- Experience with test-driven development and testing libraries like Vitest, Jest, or Playwright
- Proficiency with agentic AI development tools for large refactors, test generation, and code migration
