Job Description
SOCi, which offers AI-driven marketing software to businesses operating in many locations, is looking for a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist. The job covers the whole receivables workflow: answering billing questions, making sure invoices are delivered, and keeping payments arriving on schedule.
The ideal applicant is a customer-oriented communicator with a sharp eye for detail who can juggle several priorities at once. Daily collaboration spans Customer Success, Sales and the internal Finance group, so billing accuracy has to hold across all three.
On the operational side, the specialist monitors a shared billing mailbox and must reply within agreed targets, sets up billing for new customers, keeps contact records current, and sends invoices through customer portals at the cadence each client requires. Overdue balances are chased by phone and email, payments and credit notes are applied, reconciliations are carried out, aging schedules are produced, and at-risk accounts are flagged. Senior leaders receive a monthly update on priority accounts.
The company notes that its staff work from home across many countries and describes its environment as quick-moving and nimble. Pay is quoted in Canadian dollars, and the final figure depends on skills, experience and education.
Responsibilities
- Respond to customer and internal questions about invoices, contracts and payments within agreed timeframes
- Deliver invoices to client portals on weekly, bi-weekly or monthly cycles, in the format each one requires
- Chase overdue balances by phone and email and raise payment concerns early
- Post payments, credit notes and rebills and correct mismatched balances
- Produce aging schedules, identify at-risk accounts and oversee automated dunning for assigned clients
- Handle onboarding paperwork such as vendor forms, supplier portal registrations and tax-exemption certificates
- Assist with quarterly bad-debt reserve work and write-offs, and send priority account updates to leadership each month
Requirements
- Minimum two years in receivables, billing or a comparable finance position
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including complex formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables and conditional sums
- Organized, precise and able to communicate clearly in writing and speech
- Working grasp of accounting fundamentals and billing conventions
- Discretion when handling confidential information
Qualifications
- Exposure to NetSuite, Tesorio, Maxio, Salesforce or Avalara
- Understanding of subscription contract structures
- Experience with supplier portals and payment systems
- Practical familiarity with AI tools and openness to using them
