GitLab seeks an AI Transformation Owner, CRO to manage the complete artificial intelligence agenda for its field organization. In this position, you will translate emerging AI capabilities into actionable enablement roadmaps, practical field use cases, and broader strategic initiatives. You will work closely with product and engineering departments to test and scale AI technologies, build operational transformation blueprints, and establish robust governance frameworks to maintain safe and compliant AI usage. This remote position operates within the Enablement and AI division of the CRO organization and reports directly to the Vice President of Enablement & AI.
This hands-on role suits autonomous professionals who possess mid-to-senior experience in sales operations, enablement, or related go-to-market functions, combined with a strong technical understanding of business AI applications. Candidates must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, driving multiple parallel workstreams, and collaborating asynchronously in an all-remote environment based on transparency. Responsibilities
- Own and continuously develop the strategic roadmap for AI-driven enablement initiatives based on feasibility and field impact.
- Identify, scope, and execute high-value AI use cases for the field organization including prospecting, deal support, and guided selling.
- Build relationships with field champions to drive peer-led adoption and track proficiency metrics alongside analysts.
- Design and execute the operational transformation plan to transition AI pilots into scaled, repeatable processes.
- Influence and lead governance standards for field AI tool adoption covering data usage, risk review, and policy alignment.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in enablement, sales operations, or related go-to-market functions.
- Direct background in evaluating, piloting, or deploying business AI tools with solid technical understanding.
- Proven ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams to bridge technical requirements and field needs.
- Strong project management skills capable of handling parallel workstreams independently without detailed direction.
- Familiarity with sales or field enablement motions such as onboarding, coaching, and content adoption.
