Affirm is seeking an Analyst II, Credit for a remote position in the UK. Affirm provides clear and predictable payment solutions allowing consumers to pay over time without hidden fees or surprises. In this role, you will evaluate financial, fraud, identity, brand, reputational, legal, and compliance risks associated with merchants.
The position is suited for professionals with a background in e-commerce underwriting or commercial lending, and involves analyzing third-party data, business credit reports, and other merchant attributes. Team members collaborate across departments with groups like Sales and Business Development to assess non-financial risk and contribute to workflow automation improvements.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate brand, compliance, fraud, and financial risk to determine credit exposure for current and prospective merchants
- Perform risk reviews using financial documents, business credit reports, investigative research tools, and financial market data
- Examine and integrate new third-party data sources to evaluate merchant financial risk
- Track ongoing dispute, chargeback, fraud, and credit trends across merchants
- Contribute domain expertise to help automate and improve merchant risk evaluation processes
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience assessing merchant risk in fields such as merchant underwriting, seller risk management, collections, or fraud
- Demonstrated history of collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly Sales and Business Development
- Proficiency in analyzing payment processor statements, business credit reports, and financial documents
- Strong sense of accountability, execution urgency, and ownership
Qualifications
- Prior background in commercial lending or e-commerce underwriting
- Previous work experience within financial institutions, banking, lending, or payments
