Coinbase is hiring a full-time Senior Associate for Broker Dealer Operations to support its U.S. equities brokerage business within the Coinbase Capital Markets group. Operating in a remote capacity, the person in this role will act as a subject matter expert inside the operational engine that handles customer accounts, trades, cash, positions, transfers, corporate actions, and regulatory reporting. The position involves independently steering complex operational workflows, enhancing controls, and collaborating with Apex and internal departments to transition recurring manual tasks into dependable systems and tooling. Candidates should expect an intense work environment and participate in quarterly in-person working sessions known as surges.

Responsibilities
- Manage recurring broker-dealer operations workflows encompassing reconciliations, corporate actions, securities transfers, account maintenance, error processing, and regulatory reporting support
- Execute daily order, trade, position, balance, and cash reconciliations between internal records and Apex, investigate discrepancies, and drive resolutions
- Handle complex exceptions and time-sensitive incidents by coordinating remediation across multiple internal groups and external partners like Apex
- Create and maintain audit-ready documentation such as standard operating procedures, runbooks, control checklists, and process maps
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to define operational requirements, test new features, validate launches, and improve dashboards and automation
- Identify systemic failure points and lead initiatives to minimize manual work and increase recovery speed
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services operations, broker-dealer operations, clearing and settlement, trade support, or an operational control function
- Direct experience handling the U.S. equities trade lifecycle including order processing, settlement, positions, cash movements, corporate actions, and securities transfers
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex operational issues across multiple systems without relying on existing runbooks for every scenario
- Track record of authoring or improving standard operating procedures, runbooks, controls documentation, or audit-support materials within a regulated setting
- Hands-on background utilizing clearing firm or broker-dealer systems like Apex Clearing or Apex Ascend
- Working proficiency in SQL, Jira, and data-quality or workflow-automation tools
- Experience working alongside Engineering and Product teams to translate operational requirements into tooling, alerts, dashboards, or automated workflows
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs
