Job Description
Coinbase is seeking a Senior Associate for Broker Dealer Operations to join the Coinbase Capital Markets team. In this remote-first position, the individual will act as a subject-matter expert within the operational backbone supporting the organization's U.S. equities brokerage platform. The role involves independently handling intricate operational workflows, improving internal controls, and collaborating with Apex along with various internal departments to transform routine manual tasks into dependable processes and tools. This position is situated within an intense and fast-paced environment where participants gather quarterly for in-person working sessions known as surges.
Responsibilities encompass overseeing recurring broker-dealer tasks, performing daily reconciliations of orders, trades, positions, balances, and cash between Coinbase and Apex records, managing time-sensitive exceptions, and producing audit-ready documentation such as standard operating procedures and control checklists. The selected professional will also work alongside Product and Engineering teams to define requirements, test new features, and spearhead initiatives aimed at reducing manual effort and bolstering operational resilience.
Ideal candidates possess extensive experience in financial services operations, a proven ability to manage complex operational challenges independently, and hands-on familiarity with clearing firm systems and workflow tools. Coinbase operates as an equal opportunity employer.

- Conduct daily order, trade, position, balance, and cash reconciliations between internal and Apex records while investigating and resolving breaks

- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to define operational requirements, validate launch readiness, and test new functionality
- Lead process-improvement initiatives to minimize manual work, increase recovery speed, and enhance operational resilience
Requirements
- Have at least five years of experience in financial services operations, broker-dealer operations, clearing and settlement, trade support, or a related operational control function
- Possess direct experience working with the U.S. equities trade lifecycle including order processing, settlement, positions, cash movements, corporate actions, and securities transfers
- Demonstrate the ability to independently manage complex operational issues across multiple systems without relying on runbooks for every scenario
- Bring a track record of authoring or improving standard operating procedures, runbooks, controls documentation, or audit-support materials in a regulated setting
- Bring hands-on experience with clearing firm or broker-dealer systems like Apex Clearing or Apex Ascend
- Maintain working proficiency in SQL, Jira, and data-quality or workflow-automation tooling
