The organization is currently hiring a full-time Builder to join Foundry, which is a standalone division inside Instructure focused on creating new revenue streams through AI-built products.
In this position, you will operate within a two-person pod alongside a non-technical Founder. Your primary focus will be maintaining the architectural integrity, security, scalability, and quality of code generated with the help of artificial intelligence tools. Rather than writing every single line manually, you will direct and verify high volumes of AI-generated code using Git and shared harnesses, balancing fast pilot timelines with enterprise-grade stability.
This role suits experienced engineering professionals who possess strong senior judgment, familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling, and a product-focused mindset geared toward customer success. You will work independently without a dedicated platform team backup, making crucial decisions regarding what is safe to release and communicating project context back to the broader operating team.

Responsibilities
- Manage the architectural integrity and assume accountability for released software
- Oversee code quality, security, and scalability for agentically generated code
- Develop hands-on in Git utilizing AI development tools to support rapid piloting and general availability
- Review, direct, and verify large volumes of code to catch issues prior to deployment
- Determine deployment safety and decide which features require closer examination
- Record context within shared systems to align the Founder and operating team
- Collaborate directly with a non-technical Founder to bridge product goals with technical capabilities
