Job Description

Culture Amp is looking for a Chief People Officer to lead its People Experience function across four countries. The incumbent is stepping down after roughly three and a half years in the role. The posting presents the function as healthy, with reliable delivery, a strong team, a high standard for senior hires and a respected place at the leadership table, so the successor is expected to build on that base rather than repair it.

The posting lists priorities by weight. The first is running People Experience reliably across performance, engagement, pay, hiring, capability and compliance, with deputies who own results and an organisation designed ahead of strategy. The second is credibility externally and with clients, many of whom are HR leaders, which means speaking at events and joining customer conversations. The third is personal leadership on AI, including governance that enables adoption. The fourth is shaping the product by acting as the company's own first and most demanding customer and feeding insight to research and development.

The chief people officer advises the chief executive and leadership team on structure, senior appointments and pay, and is expected to be personally fluent with AI tools. The posting seeks someone who has run a people function at scale across several countries, builds teams that need little hands-on oversight, raises difficult points early, and holds a clear point of view on the future of work. Experience in technology or SaaS helps but is not essential. Applications are visible only to talent acquisition and hiring staff, and being a customer confers neither advantage nor disadvantage.

The posting does not state a salary or a city. Its benefits section lists equity, learning programs, refresh days, a wellbeing allowance, parental leave from the first day, and medical cover for US and UK staff.

Responsibilities

  • Run the People Experience function across performance, engagement, pay, hiring, capability and compliance in four countries
  • Build an organisation that anticipates strategy and fields strong deputies
  • Advise the chief executive and executives on structure, senior hires and pay
  • Speak at company and industry events and take part in customer discussions
  • Lead the company's internal AI adoption and governance across functions
  • Act as the internal first customer and feed product direction to research and development
  • Coach and build leaders who can run operations independently

Requirements

  • Track record running a people organisation of significant size across several countries
  • Sound judgement on structure, senior talent and when to step in
  • Readiness to raise unpopular issues with senior leaders early
  • Hands-on personal AI skills and experience creating governance that speeds adoption
  • A considered, defensible view of the future of work
  • Willingness to take part in commercial activity such as customer calls and speaking

Qualifications

  • Technology or SaaS background is helpful
  • Prior speaking or customer-facing experience is a plus
