The role involves working on AWS-based systems, overseeing the cloud security posture management program alongside standards like ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53, managing cloud workload protection, and directing data security efforts such as masking and classification. Additional duties include automating infrastructure security, conducting architecture reviews, operating security platforms, and building internal frameworks to promote compliance with regulations like PCI DSS and DPDPA. Responsibilities
- Identify internal and external security issues and collaborate with stakeholders on mitigations for complex AWS-based systems
- Manage the cloud security posture management program in alignment with NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001 standards
- Oversee the cloud workload protection program including alert triage and investigation
- Direct the data security charter covering data classification, masking, and large-scale data stores
- Automate infrastructure security and develop tooling to decrease manual tasks
- Perform security design, infrastructure, and architecture reviews
- Build, run, and maintain cloud security platforms to boost detection, prevention, and response
- Translate product specifications into threat models to uncover security risks
- Create internal security frameworks to foster a strong security culture across technical teams
- Facilitate compliance across teams with standards like ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and DPDPA
Requirements
- 2 to 6 years of experience in information security
- Strong fundamentals in operating systems like Linux, computer networks, containers, and secure cloud architecture
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or Bash
- Solid understanding of cloud security with hands-on experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience building and automating custom security tools
- Understanding of microservices, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and securing containerized workloads
- Strong grasp of core security principles such as zero trust, least privilege, and defense-in-depth
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Strong communication skills to act as a go-to security partner for product and engineering teams
- Proactive approach to staying updated on security research, tools, breaches, and threats
Qualifications
- Security projects hosted on GitHub or technical blogs
- Basic understanding of MCP, LLMs, and AI agents with interest in building AI-driven security workflows
- Familiarity with CVSS, patching cycles, and vulnerability management
