In this capacity, the professional will assist in administering the compliance management system, analyzing regulatory modifications, assessing marketing assets, and offering guidance to engineering and product teams.

This position is suited for individuals with extensive regulatory experience in fintech or financial services who can navigate ambiguity and collaborate effectively with bank partners and regulatory agencies. The job involves overseeing banking compliance policies, conducting risk evaluations for regulations like UDAAP and Reg E, and directing internal or external audits.

The position is based on-site at offices in Menlo Park, California, New York City, New York, or Washington, DC, requiring in-person attendance at least three days per week. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and engineering groups during the design, release, and iteration of banking features to maintain adherence to consumer protection and banking laws
  • Conduct compliance risk evaluations regarding regulations such as UDAAP, Reg E, and Reg DD
  • Examine customer notices, disclosures, and marketing materials for regulatory adherence
  • Manage due diligence inquiries and routine compliance tasks alongside sponsor banks and external third parties
  • Maintain, own, and update banking compliance controls, procedures, and policies
  • Direct internal, partner, and regulatory audits associated with banking merchandise by managing preparation, responses, and tracking remediation

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of background in financial services compliance, featuring deep involvement in fintech and banking sectors
  • Practical background collaborating with banking partners and interacting with state and federal regulatory bodies
  • Comprehensive understanding of consumer protection and banking frameworks like UDAAP, TISA, EFTA, and money transmission laws
  • Demonstrated capability to design and scale compliance structures for consumer financial merchandise within technology-driven settings
  • Skill in managing and assessing compliance risks for novel financial features and translating regulatory guidelines into actionable instructions
