Robinhood is seeking a Director of Risk, Brokerage to join its team on-site in Chicago, IL. The position requires working from the office five days a week. The Brokerage Risk Governance and Oversight group handles the administration and execution of the enterprise risk program across Robinhood Financial, LLC and Robinhood Securities, LLC.
This individual will collaborate with brokerage leadership and cross-functional teams to shape risk management strategies, lead data analytics initiatives, and direct risk committee reporting. Responsibilities also include managing documentation, directing risk assessments such as RCSAs and new product reviews, and maintaining independent oversight of broker-dealer risk controls.
The ideal candidate is an experienced risk professional with a strong operational background in financial services and a track record of team leadership. The role suits someone capable of driving alignment among senior stakeholders in a fast-paced environment while leveraging data analytics and emerging technologies to enhance risk monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement risk management practices in partnership with senior management and cross-functional teams
- Own and update Risk Management Program documentation and frameworks
- Oversee risk assessment activities including RCSAs, new product reviews, and emerging risk identification
- Direct the preparation and presentation of risk committee materials and executive reports
- Provide independent oversight of broker-dealer risk and control environments
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of risk professionals
- Lead the Data Analytics and Solutions function to uncover and present actionable risk insights
Requirements
- 10 or more years of experience working in financial services
- Comprehensive knowledge of broker-dealer operations and relevant regulations
- At least 5 years of management experience leading and developing risk professionals
- Deep expertise in risk management frameworks such as RCSAs and regulatory examination preparation
- Exceptional written communication skills for creating regulatory-grade documentation and executive reporting
- Experience using data analytics tools and reporting solutions to build risk dashboards
