Job Description
CertiK is a Web3 security firm protecting blockchain networks, smart contracts and decentralized apps. The company, which began in 2017 and has its main office in New York City, offers contract audits, penetration tests, on-chain monitoring, incident handling and compliance services to digital asset projects. Its team is spread across North America, Asia and Europe.
This is a remote internship in the Compliance Engineer track, and it must be performed from outside the United States. The intern helps Engineering with regulatory research, licensing analysis and reviewing AI-generated compliance material, and helps prepare first drafts of client deliverables. An experienced compliance professional reviews every material regulatory conclusion and client deliverable before it is used.
Day-to-day work includes researching and summarizing regulatory frameworks, arranging requirements into modules, evidence categories and checklists, and keeping mappings between regulations and services current. The intern also verifies AI-generated content against sources and notes missing information, and records reviewer feedback so templates and evaluation cases can improve. Working across client-facing staff, compliance reviewers and the Engineering group is part of the role, as is raising unclear interpretations with experienced reviewers.
The posting suits detail-oriented, organized people curious about crypto-asset rules, financial compliance or AI-assisted compliance work. It does not state a pay rate or stipend.
Responsibilities
- Study regulatory frameworks and licensing rules and write up clear summaries.
- Help with applicability research, gap reviews, evidence requests, policy reviews and drafting application documents.
- Sort regulatory requirements into modules, evidence groups, checklists and mapping tables.
- Check AI outputs for factual consistency, citations, missing information and formatting.
- Prepare first drafts of compliance write-ups, evidence notes, client reports, pitch slides and review packs.
- Help maintain regulation-to-service and submission-material mappings.
- Organize customer materials and flag possible evidence gaps for reviewer confirmation.
- Log reviewer feedback and update templates and evaluation cases.
- Track requests across client-facing teams, reviewers and Engineering.
Requirements
- Currently studying toward, or recently finished, a program in computer science, business, public policy, risk, accounting, finance or law.
- Good research habits, analytical thinking and clear structured writing.
- Careful eye for detail in regulatory source texts, citations and client files.
- Ability to turn complex information into checklists, summaries, presentations and reports.
- Capacity to juggle several assignments and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Curiosity about crypto-asset rules, financial compliance, licensing or AI-supported compliance work.
Qualifications
- Professional Chinese (preferred, not required).
- Some grounding in digital-asset rules or VASP-style licensing.
- An earlier internship, class project or other work touching regulatory research or audit is a plus.
- Some sense of where language models go wrong and why human review matters.
