Job Description
CertiK operates in Web3 security, safeguarding blockchain networks, smart contracts and decentralized apps. Its approach mixes security research with formal verification and AI tooling. Offerings include contract audits, penetration tests, monitoring of on-chain activity, incident handling and compliance support for digital asset projects. Founded in 2017 and based in New York City, the company has staff spread across North America, Asia and Europe.
This is a full-time, remote Compliance Engineer position that must be performed from outside the United States. The person in this role serves as the front-line compliance checkpoint for AI-generated outputs and the client deliverables built from them. The job is to check that those outputs are accurate on regulatory points, backed by evidence, traceable to their sources and suitable for the client receiving them.
The role backs client-facing staff and commercial service groups by turning open-ended requests into defined scopes and deliverables, such as compliance analyses and review reports. It also involves collaborating with Engineering on mapping rules, templates, review logic, test cases and structured AI workflows, so that recurring compliance tasks can be repeated consistently. Anything risky on interpretation, or any definitive legal call, goes up to senior reviewers or Legal.
A suitable candidate has practical experience with licensing and regulatory-readiness work and can handle urgent, ambiguous requests without lowering quality. The posting does not state a salary or compensation figure.
Responsibilities
- Break down regulatory frameworks and licensing obligations into their component requirements.
- Help scope licensing and readiness work, covering applicability checks, gap reviews, evidence collection, policy checks and remediation tracking.
- Check AI-generated material for accuracy against regulation, supporting evidence, traceable sourcing and suitability for each client.
- Shape vague asks into concrete scopes, plus compliance analyses and review reports.
- Prepare compliance guidance, evidence checklists and submission-material mappings.
- Collaborate with Engineering on regulatory mappings, building templates, review logic, test cases and AI workflows.
- Pass risky interpretations and definitive legal or compliance calls up to senior reviewers or Legal.
Requirements
- Three-plus years of engineering-oriented work in compliance-focused, regulatory, financial, digital-asset or legal settings.
- Hands-on work on at least one licensing filing, regulator registration or full regulatory-readiness effort.
- Working command of regulatory analysis plus evidence review and licensing paperwork.
- Skill in producing clear guidance, mapping documents, presentations and client reports.
- Good client-facing communication and the ability to coordinate across functions.
- Capacity to triage rushed, unclear asks from client-facing staff while keeping standards high.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Qualifications
- Professional Chinese (preferred, not required).
- Some knowledge of digital-asset rules and VASP licensing, or of similar regimes.
- Awareness of where LLMs fall short, including hallucination risk and the need for source tracing and human review.
