This professional will handle corporate policies, third-party risk management, regulatory tracking across multiple global regions, and internal investigations. The role suits an organized specialist who can manage multiple projects independently, translate intricate rules into clear guidance, and leverage approved automation or artificial intelligence tools to optimize compliance workflows.
The position is based in San Francisco, California, operating on an on-site model requiring office presence one to two times annually for in-person collaboration. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various business units, including Human Resources, Finance, Product, and Engineering, while championing a culture of ethical standards and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities
- Manage and mature corporate compliance and ethics programs alongside related policies covering conflicts of interest, record management, and training
- Handle third-party risk management tasks such as restricted-country screening, third-party reviews, and gift evaluations
- Identify, document, and escalate potential compliance risks while designing and executing risk assessments
- Monitor new regulatory requirements across international jurisdictions including the US, EU, LATAM, and APAC
- Maintain self-service compliance assets, knowledge hubs, process trackers, and evidence repositories
- Conduct internal investigations related to compliance matters
- Support control testing, periodic monitoring, audits, and reporting updates for the Board
- Integrate approved artificial intelligence tools and workflow automation to enhance compliance operations
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Human Resources teams
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience establishing and maintaining programs in compliance, ethics, sanctions, anti-money laundering, know-your-customer, or third-party risk
- Familiarity with systems such as GRC, case management, document management, learning management, or helplines
- Knowledge of OFAC concepts, sanctions screening, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, anti-bribery measures, financial crime controls, or consumer protection rules
- Strong verbal and written communication skills suitable for diverse audiences
- Experience applying automation and artificial intelligence tools to improve compliance workflows or reporting
- Proficiency with Google Workspace software including presentation and spreadsheet tools
Qualifications
- Possession of a Juris Doctor degree with in-house or law firm compliance support background
- Professional background within a technology company or a multi-jurisdictional environment
- Compliance or ethics certifications such as CCEP, CAMS, or ICA
