Flex is currently seeking a Counsel to join the legal team on a remote basis. Flex operates as an AI-native private bank designed for business owners, restructuring financial services such as banking, credit, payments, and financial operations into a single system. The organization serves affluent entrepreneurs generating between three and two hundred million dollars in revenue.
In this position, the Counsel will handle a wide array of legal tasks ranging from commercial contracts and regulatory matters to corporate governance and dispute resolution. Working closely with internal teams and senior legal personnel, the individual will help streamline legal processes and utilize artificial intelligence to automate routine tasks. Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise commercial agreements such as NDAs, vendor contracts, and customer agreements
- Support contract negotiations through draft preparation, redlining, and issue research alongside senior legal staff
- Assist with product and regulatory matters including legal research, disclosure reviews, and customer-facing policy preparation
- Research federal and state laws to provide practical guidance for internal teams and business partners
- Contribute to regulatory and licensing initiatives by preparing filings, maintaining records, and managing inquiries from external entities
- Handle disputes, litigation, collections, and recovery tasks by organizing records and coordinating with outside counsel
- Maintain corporate records and assist with governance and general corporate responsibilities
- Collaborate across departments to gather facts and respond to organizational needs efficiently
- Develop and improve legal templates, playbooks, and processes to increase departmental efficiency
- Utilize artificial intelligence and emerging technology to automate routine legal duties
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Active bar license or eligibility to obtain admission promptly
- Zero to two years of relevant legal experience
- Strong academic background and legal research, writing, and analytical capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple assignments and deadlines
- Good judgment regarding independent problem-solving and seeking guidance
- Strong communication skills for interacting with legal and non-legal colleagues
Qualifications
- Prior legal experience within a law firm, in-house setting, government office, or judicial clerkship
- Prior exposure to fintech, financial services, technology, or startup environments
- Curiosity about artificial intelligence and willingness to apply it responsibly to legal workflows
