The organization seeks a Credit Risk Analyst Commercial Underwriter to join the North America Strategy Risk team on West Coast hours, with a strong preference for candidates based in the Pacific time zone. This position sits within the Credit team, which safeguards the platform by overseeing the complete risk lifecycle for high-exposure accounts, from initial onboarding through loss recovery.
In this capacity, the professional will evaluate major merchants and rapidly expanding companies, balancing risk mitigation with business growth. The role involves close collaboration with departments such as Sales, Legal, Treasury, and Finance to deliver actionable insights and handle portfolio management. Responsibilities
- Assess the financial statements and operating models of top merchants, including startups and established institutions
- Formulate customized credit risk strategies to limit platform exposure while supporting client growth
- Monitor the existing portfolio by analyzing risk patterns across different industries and geographic regions
- Provide executive leadership with data-driven insights for onboarding approaches and pricing evaluations
- Enhance internal workflows and systems to achieve key performance indicators like loss targets and coverage metrics
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assist global merchants
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of relevant work experience involving commercial credit underwriting, financial risk modeling, and cash flow forecasting
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts and the ability to review business models across diverse sectors
- Skill in turning financial metrics into clear narratives explaining credit risks and mitigation methods
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities in a dynamic workplace
- Confidence communicating directly with executive leaders such as CFOs and CEOs
