Job Description

SeatGeek operates as a technology-driven ticketing platform aiming to simplify and modernize live entertainment. Through its SeatGeek IQ division, the company partners with major sports and entertainment rightsholders to manage collaborative pricing and inventory strategies, functioning as an extension of commercial teams.

The organization seeks a Senior Trader to serve as the lead owner for several major partnerships. This professional will manage pricing strategies, oversee inventory positions, and build direct relationships with key client leadership.

This position suits an analytical commercial expert with a strong background in revenue management and ticket pricing who can exercise independent judgment. The role relies on automation and artificial intelligence to minimize administrative tasks, allowing the trader to focus on commercial health, renewal management, and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities involve setting prices throughout the event lifecycle, managing inventory distribution, conducting regular performance reporting, and mentoring junior staff. Candidates must expect to travel approximately twenty percent of the year or more for partner site visits, business reviews, live events, conferences, and team offsites. Duties will frequently require evening and weekend work during the event season.

SeatGeek provides a comprehensive compensation package including base salary, equity eligibility, and discretionary bonuses, alongside extensive wellness, family leave, and insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pricing strategy, execution, and adjustments for major sports and entertainment partnerships
  • Oversee the overall commercial health of assigned accounts, handle escalations, and manage renewal processes
  • Establish and adjust ticket prices across the entire event lifecycle from presale to day-of events
  • Determine inventory release schedules, holding strategies, and cross-channel distribution methods
  • Deliver regular performance reports and conduct strategy check-ins with partner leadership
  • Mentor junior traders and review pricing decisions for high-stakes events
  • Translate one-off partner research requests regarding market behavior and demand into repeatable team outputs
  • Identify gaps in service offerings and lead pilots for new internal pricing and intelligence tools
  • Conduct post-event pricing evaluations to inform future strategies
  • Travel roughly twenty percent of the year or more for partner visits, live events, conferences, and offsites

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience in ticket pricing, revenue management, trading, or a comparable analytical commercial role
  • At least two years of experience owning client or partner relationships, preferably within sports, live entertainment, or dynamic-pricing industries
  • Demonstrated expertise as the senior owner of a significant commercial book of business
  • Experience managing partnerships during periods of commercial strain
  • Experience mentoring others, reviewing analytical work, and establishing operational standards
  • Strong proficiency with core pricing metrics including sell-through, price realization, average ticket price, gross ticketing value, and inventory aging
  • Working familiarity with spreadsheets and business intelligence tooling

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, sports management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Prior professional experience working on the rightsholder side such as a club, league, venue, or promoter
  • Prior professional experience with a secondary marketplace
  • Exposure to commercial deal structuring
  • Familiarity with data analytics concepts and workflows
