Dutchie, a technology platform serving dispensary operations and connecting consumers with cannabis access across the United States and Canada, is hiring a Financial Operations Intern. This part-time internship involves approximately 30 hours per week and offers practical exposure to the accounting and finance functions of the company.
This position is well-suited for current students or recent graduates who want to gain hands-on experience in financial operations within a fast-moving corporate setting. The person in this role will report directly to the Revenue Lead and will assist with daily operational duties such as billing, collections, cash application, and partner payment tasks.
Interns will collaborate with multiple departments, including Sales, Customer Success, Business Systems, and Collections, to resolve payment inquiries and support internal and external audits. Additional duties involve contributing to month-end close activities, monitoring support tickets, and helping streamline the order-to-cash cycle.
Responsibilities
- Manage collection tasks by communicating with customers to address payment issues
- Post customer payments to the correct accounts to maintain accurate records
- Generate reports regarding cash reconciliations, payment statuses, and key metrics
- Contribute to month-end close by handling Accounts Receivable reconciliations
- Collaborate with internal departments to answer customer payment questions
- Gather documentation and assist with internal and external audits
- Help develop procedures to boost accounts receivable efficiency
- Review and resolve billing and payment inquiries via Zendesk tickets
Requirements
- Currently pursue or recently finish a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities
- Possess written and verbal communication skills
- Manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Qualifications
- Familiarity with financial or billing platforms such as Salesforce, Sage Intacct, Zuora, or Zendesk
- Experience with or exposure to artificial intelligence tools with an interest in applying them to financial tasks
