Coinbase is hiring a Crypto Inventory Operations Intern for a remote position within the Finance department. This is a 12-week internship scheduled for the summer of 2027. In this role, the intern will help manage large-scale crypto assets by monitoring operational balances, assisting with data collection, and handling escalation procedures. Responsibilities include tracking stablecoin thresholds, managing Unclaimed Property workflows, building reporting dashboards, and researching ways to reduce idle balances using automation and AI tools. The position involves collaborating across various internal teams, including Engineering, Product, Accounting, Compliance, and Operations, to mitigate operational risk and streamline financial processes.
This opportunity suits students currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field who have an interest in digital assets, corporate treasury, or fintech. Responsibilities
- Monitor operational crypto balances across different company entities and gather data for inventory tasks
- Track stablecoin balances against thresholds, review alerts, and coordinate with Engineering teams
- Maintain Unclaimed Property tracking documents and assist with due diligence activities
- Build and update dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools for inventory and P&L exposure visibility
- Conduct research and process-improvement projects to decrease idle balances and automate workflows
- Identify methods to enhance operational workflows utilizing automation and generative AI tools
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028
- Demonstrated interest in crypto assets, fintech, corporate treasury, accounting, or digital asset operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for building and maintaining operational models
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting procedures and presenting findings
- Ability to responsibly utilize generative AI with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency
