Job Description
YipitData is hiring a Corporate Data Scientist for its Panel Science team. The team aims to build a mathematically rigorous foundation for how enterprises measure consumers, which the company calls its single source of truth. The role sits where statistical modeling, data infrastructure and analytical product design meet, and the person can focus on refining core statistical baselines, tuning heavy computational models, or building reusable logic libraries.
YipitData is an analytics-driven research company serving the disruptive economy. It was recently funded with $475 million from The Carlyle Group, and its platform processes billions of alternative data points spanning payments, ridesharing, e-commerce, cloud, AI and software. Locations span the US, Asia-Pacific and India, and the culture is built around openness, accountability and ongoing skill development.
The data scientist designs and validates optimization frameworks and distribution models that keep downstream metrics mathematically sound, and weighs methodological trade-offs. They also turn one-off code into standard, version-tracked templates and logic libraries that power dashboards and LLM-driven applications. The role works closely with Data Engineering to shift heavier math out of ordinary database queries and into production cloud compute. The job asks for roughly four to five years in professional data science work, plus two to three years alongside an advanced degree, and a quantitative bachelor's degree, with a master's strongly preferred. A strong command of statistical distributions, advanced Python or R, and expert SQL are required. Panel or longitudinal consumer data, transaction-level receipt data, or Databricks experience is a major advantage. The role is remote-friendly from New York City, an office hub or anywhere in the US, and expects East Coast working hours. Candidates who will need visa sponsorship now or later cannot be considered.
Responsibilities
- Design, validate and roll out optimization frameworks and distribution models that keep downstream metrics mathematically sound
- Work through demanding methods, weigh trade-offs between approaches, and put advanced statistics into practice
