Ashby is seeking a Design Engineer to join its team on a full-time, remote basis with a salary range of USD 210,000 to 250,000 per year. The company builds talent acquisition and HR software designed to help recruiting teams operate efficiently through intelligent automation, powerful analytics, and robust workflows. Used by prominent customers such as Notion, Shopify, Linear, and Snowflake, Ashby's software serves over 100,000 weekly active users and millions of candidates weekly.
In this role, you will take ownership of both visual design and technical execution, working on challenging design problems, expanding the in-house design system, and consulting on bespoke design projects alongside product engineers. You will shape the user interface and user experience of a complex, high-scale product that balances ease of use with deep customizability. Ideal candidates possess exceptional visual taste and solid programming capabilities, thriving in an environment with minimal oversight where engineers independently manage their projects from research and wireframing to full implementation.
Responsibilities
- Work on challenging product design problems across the application
- Expand and enhance the in-house design system to help product engineers build consistent interfaces
- Consult on bespoke design work needed by product engineers
- Research problems, write product specs, build wireframes, and implement solutions end-to-end
- Participate in customer support investigations and issue resolution across the team
Requirements
- Have at least two years of continuous professional experience as an engineer or a designer
- Demonstrate good proficiency in both design and engineering, with exceptional proficiency in your primary discipline
- Show experience designing products and shipping code to hundreds of users
