Responsibilities
- Manage the complete engineering strategy and execution for the Brokerage Platform organization
- Lead and mentor a large, distributed group of engineering managers and senior and staff-level engineers
- Partner with technical program managers to prioritize incoming demands from various product teams
- Ensure continuous reliability and operational health of systems handling market-critical functions
- Champion technical debt reduction and modernization initiatives like stack rewrites, multi-region scaling, and sharding
Requirements
- Possess at least 15 years of software engineering experience
- Accumulate a minimum of 6 years in engineering leadership positions, including Director or Senior Director roles managing multiple teams
- Demonstrate familiarity with distributed systems, backend services at scale, and cloud infrastructure
- Work on-site five days per week at the Menlo Park, California office
Qualifications
- Bring a background in platform engineering with experience owning technical direction for foundational backend systems
- Hold direct experience within financial services, trading, brokerage, or similar high-criticality domains
