Cloudflare seeks a Director of Structured Finance to direct financing transactions and capital strategies that expand its global infrastructure, network, and developer tools. Operating within a lean team, this role manages every phase of financing workstreams—from initial structuring and counterparty engagement to negotiations, documentation, and closing. The person in this position will translate capital requirements and capacity plans into structured, investable arrangements like vendor financing, equipment leases, and structured debt. This position collaborates closely with internal teams including Treasury, Infrastructure, Legal, Tax, Accounting, and Hardware Sourcing, while providing strategic analysis to the executive team and the Board. Ideal candidates possess extensive experience in structured finance, infrastructure investing, or investment banking, combined with advanced financial modeling capabilities and an AI-native approach to scaling operations. Cloudflare operates an intelligent global network designed to accelerate and secure online properties.
Responsibilities
- Manage financing workstreams end-to-end for data center and network infrastructure, covering equipment financing, leasing, and vendor financing
- Convert infrastructure requirements and capital expenditure plans into frameworks for lenders and lessors
- Negotiate directly with external counterparties regarding risk allocation, commercial terms, collateral, and covenants
- Evaluate lease versus buy versus finance trade-offs to balance capital costs, risk, and flexibility
- Collaborate with the Treasury team on broader capital markets strategies, debt, and liquidity analysis
- Build and maintain financial models for transaction pricing, returns, and capital allocation
- Partner with Accounting, Tax, and Legal to address tax implications, disclosures, and lease classifications
- Handle post-close management including reporting obligations, relationship maintenance, and covenant compliance
Requirements
- Over 10 years of professional background spanning structured finance, project finance, infrastructure investing, private equity, private credit, investment banking, or corporate capital markets
- Demonstrated history of guiding complex financing transactions through closure, encompassing direct negotiation and documentation
- Expertise in financial modeling, credit analysis, and transaction documentation such as credit agreements and master lease agreements
- Understanding of the accounting and tax repercussions tied to financing structures
- Proficiency in utilizing modern AI tools for workflow scaling and financial modeling
Qualifications
- Sector background focused on digital infrastructure, data centers, cloud computing, AI compute, or telecommunications
- Established relationships with lenders, infrastructure investors, and lessors
- Possession of an MBA, CFA, or similar credential
