Job Description
Mozilla.org is the steward of Mozilla's family of organizations, which includes the Mozilla Foundation, Mozilla Corporation, MZLA, Mozilla Ventures, Mozilla.ai, and Mozilla Data Collective, along with smaller strategic investments and an investment reserve. This remote, full-time Director, Portfolio Management job reports to the COO and is housed in the Mozilla Management Company.
The director leads portfolio planning, tying together organizational strategies, operating plans, capital needs, and portfolio priorities. This covers setting double bottom line targets and allocating capital across the portfolio. The director also organizes how portfolio data is structured, including scorecards, dashboards, and reports that show priorities, results, risks, and dependencies, and partners with Finance and operating leaders to link strategy with resourcing.
Governance work keeps the rules of engagement current (who decides what) and the playbooks that define how the central organization and portfolio entities collaborate, and preparing materials for leadership and Board sessions. The director coordinates initiatives that cut across entities, converting priorities into workstreams with owners, milestones, dependencies, and rhythms, and raises execution gaps early.
Applicants should have ten or more years at a multi-entity holding company, an investment manager, a private equity or venture firm, or a development finance institution. Direct experience in a portfolio-level position is required, as are analytical strength, metrics and dashboard fluency, and a track record of running major multi-department efforts alongside senior sponsors. Knowledge of board governance and capital allocation is strongly preferred.
The target annual base salary is $240,000 to $280,000 USD, and the post also carries yearly bonus eligibility. No other benefits are described.
