PointClickCare is recruiting a Director of Software Engineering for a remote position in the United States. The director heads the engineering group that handles Transitions of Care and reports to the VP, Engineering. Roughly 50 engineers sit under this director, managed through 10 to 11 managers and senior managers.

Responsibilities
- Build roadmaps with Product Management that balance innovation, investment, operations and platform strategy
- Bring several engineering teams together under shared priorities and goals
- Design engineering strategy for platforms that are scalable, dependable and secure
- Decide architecture direction across Core and Application and Platform Services
- Grow managers and senior managers through coaching and development
- Rank initiatives by business value and align funding with strategy
- Plan hiring, staffing and succession
- Deliver major programs with engineering, product and executive partners
- Champion Agile and Kanban ways of working and steady improvement
- Guide AI-driven products and an integrated data ecosystem
Requirements
- 15 or more years of progressively responsible software engineering work, including major leadership in complex technology firms
- History of running large engineering groups through several management tiers
- Undergraduate degree in computer science, IT or a closely related area
- Track record of working with product management and executives to set direction and deliver results
- Experience establishing engineering standards across the entire delivery cycle
- Record of building leadership capability, driving change and forming strong teams
- Experience delivering large cloud solutions on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform
- Solid architecture background that includes weighing trade-offs
- Working familiarity with current AI technologies
- Clear communication, problem solving, organization and stakeholder handling
