Job Description
This full-time, remote Director, Solutions Engineering role is for the East region and is preferably based in the eastern United States. The director builds and manages a team of Solution Engineers, serves as a cultural leader for the organization, and models strong partnership between Account Executive and Solution Engineering roles.
The director is expected to grow the East Solution Engineering organization to more than 20 Solution Engineers and prepare the function to scale across products, industries, segments and go-to-market motions. The posting places the role alongside three Sales RVPs, nine Sales RSDs, 47 Account Executives, four SE managers and 25 Solution Engineers, and asks the director to help develop repeatable processes, playbooks, job architectures and enablement programs that improve win rates.
The director also helps steer major opportunities with VP of Sales peers, carries the field's feedback into product and go-to-market strategy, and acts as a thought leader both internally and externally. Sensitivity to open-source and bottom-up adoption is valued, as is a willingness to engage with customers strategically.
The ideal candidate has at least two years of second-line Solution Engineering leadership, has scaled teams beyond 30 employees, and has worked in a quick-moving, rapidly growing startup. Experience with open-source, developer-centric go-to-market motions or observability, and with complex enterprise sales, is also expected. The posted OTE range for the USA is $280,000 to $357,000, and benefits include equity and a bonus where applicable.
