Headquartered in Bedford, Massachusetts, the organization is seeking a remote ED/VP GPO and Corporate Accounts to lead strategic provider engagement and drive product growth.
This leadership position centers on shaping market entry for upcoming products by building and coaching a field-based team of corporate account directors. The selected professional will manage key relationships within group purchasing organizations, private equity-backed management service organizations, large integrated delivery networks, and ambulatory surgical center practices. Additionally, this role oversees the current DEXTENZA corporate account team and collaborates across departments on pricing, contracting, trade, distribution, and commercial analytics.
Ideal candidates possess extensive pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry background, proven success in executive-level negotiations, and experience launching field teams from the ground up. Travel of up to 50 percent is expected for this remote opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Segment and prioritize corporate accounts such as group purchasing organizations, private equity-backed management service organizations, and large integrated delivery networks or ambulatory surgical center practices.
- Formulate a unified account management approach across the product portfolio including DEXTENZA and Retina treatments.
- Adapt account prioritization by tracking updates in the provider market regarding mergers, acquisitions, and ownership shifts.
- Propose innovative contract structures and terms in partnership with pricing and contracting groups while aligning with payer coverage strategies.
- Lead the negotiation and execution of corporate account and group purchasing organization agreements.
- Engage directly with C-suite executives at high-priority accounts and guide early relationship development within the Retina space.
- Provide immediate operational oversight for the existing DEXTENZA corporate account personnel.
- Recruit, mentor, and build a field-based team focused on Retina corporate accounts.
- Establish account planning workflows, business review cadences, key performance indicators, dashboards, and escalation pathways.
- Collaborate across market access, sales, marketing, medical affairs, and commercial analytics to support field strategy implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree
- Minimum of fifteen years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology key account management or group purchasing organizations
- Minimum of eight years working in a leadership or management capacity supervising people or functions
- Minimum of five years of direct negotiation experience covering group purchasing organization membership and management service organization contracts within a buy-and-bill setting
- Familiarity with the contracting mechanisms of group purchasing organizations and private equity-backed management service organizations
- Experience constructing field-based teams from the beginning and scaling capabilities for expansion
- Cross-functional leadership, communication, and collaboration capabilities
- Ability to travel up to 50 percent
