This full-time, on-site role operates within a rapidly expanding accounting group to build automation and foundational data systems. The person hired will take technical ownership of critical projects by designing and maintaining backend services, integrations, and data pipelines that handle financial reporting, reconciliation, and close workflows. Working alongside accounting, finance, and engineering colleagues, the successful candidate will translate intricate regulatory and financial demands into automated, auditable, and reliable systems. The position requires strong expertise in distributed systems and data engineering, along with the ability to mentor junior engineers and shape architectural best practices. Responsibilities
- Take technical ownership of critical accounting infrastructure projects including backend services, integrations, and data pipelines
- Partner with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to translate financial and regulatory requirements into automated, auditable systems
- Shape team architecture and engineering best practices while mentoring junior engineers
- Drive improvements in data accuracy, pipeline reliability, and system performance
Requirements
- Possess 3 to 4 plus years of experience in software or data engineering
- Demonstrate a strong track record of delivering complex backend or data infrastructure projects
- Bring deep expertise in distributed systems and data engineering
- Have hands-on experience with modern data stack technologies like Snowflake, dbt, or Fivetran
- Understand financial concepts such as revenue recognition, reconciliation, and auditability
- Demonstrate a collaborative, low-ego approach when partnering with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Familiarity with SOX controls
- Experience with data quality frameworks
- Familiarity with financial systems such as NetSuite
